Ultimately, you do — the server lives in your own Hetzner account. By default we keep SSH access so we can help you maintain and troubleshoot it, but you can revoke our key at any time from your dashboard (and add your own to keep access). You can re-enable our access whenever you want our help, so nothing is locked away from you.

Because your mail server lives in your own Hetzner account, you decide what happens to it. You can keep it — it becomes fully yours: once you've confirmed you can log in over SSH (so you're never locked out), we remove our management keys and hand over complete control, while certificate renewal keeps running so your TLS stays valid. Or we can destroy it — we take a full backup and export of your mail data first and share it with you, so you can migrate to another provider or self-host. Either way, nothing is locked away from you.

Stalwart uses its own spam-filtering engine, with many rules ported from Rspamd and some from SpamAssassin. Stalwart can integrate with Rspamd externally.

We run regular automated backups of your mail server and can restore from them, but you remain responsible for your data and should keep your own copies too.
